Kongakut River

The Kongakut is one of my favorite rivers. It is the only one I know that is entirely in wilderness from headwaters to ocean. All the other ANWR rivers have parts that are either out of wilderness or boundaried to it. On this trip some friends and I crossed the Continental Divide from the Sheenjek River, and then picked up our boats and floated to near the Arctic Ocean. This was quite an adventure, and I only had time to produce a few small sketches like this. I like to travel, but when I do it is more difficult to produce art.
