Scoter Canyon was painted in a small side canyon off the west side of the Hulahula River during 1996. This painting had to be finished in the studio because there was so much rain that the creek rose to cover the bottom foot of the painting. The title refers to two immature surf scoters who entertained me surfing in the white water as I painted under my rain tarp.
