Arctic Fox and Oil Drum, Camden Bay

Areas of the Arctic Refuge coastal plain up to 1/4 mile inland from the Arctic Ocean are littered with 55 gallon oil drums. Some of these originated at the Collinson Point DEW station, abandoned in the early 1960s. Many of the barrels are actually windblown from Barter Island.
