Near the River - From On Site Study - Hulahula River - ANWR Brooks Range

This piece was derived from a tonal sketch on canvas the same size and done on site very near our camp. The river dramatically rose and fell during our stay as it rained eleven days in a row. One evening a pair of caribou, seeming to care little about us, ran north through the river and beyond as if they were on a mission.
