Chamberlin
Creek 4
Alkyd on canvas
20 x 24 in
I was intrigued with
the veil of water pouring over the rock at the bottom of the picture,
but I had made a mistake. I had been painting for an hour when I realized
I was standing in a deep shadow, a shadow that the sun would not touch
all day. I was cold, and there would be no relief. I took several warm
up breaks, and I did not park myself in the shade after that.
